When I first
started doing business 13 years ago, the Internet was still a new thing to most people especially in this side of the world(Malaysia). But I could see the potential and I embraced the Internet even from day one. I
started working from home at a time when working at home was still unheard of . Even some of my neighbours got a bit worried as they saw me spending more time at home. They thought I was jobless. It took quite a
while for them to understand. Now it’s not an issue anymore. Infact a few have followed suit.
Although I now have a proper office outside, I still prefer to spend the bulk of my work-time at my home office.
My home office has also changed a lot over the years. Faster computers with broadband lines plus better equipment,
technology and PDAs have made working from home easier and more efficient. The most important thing you need to remember about doing business on the Net is to treat it like a proper business, even when you are doing it part-time. You still need time to nurture it and you definitely need to focus when doing it.
